Superkids, I hope you are ready to jump back into our exploration of the fruit of the spirit, because faith is one of my favorite things about being infused with Jesus! Remember, Galatians 5:22–23, The Passion Translation, says:
The fruit produced by the Holy Spirit within you is divine love in all its varied expressions: joy that overflows, peace that subdues, patience that endures, kindness in action, a life full of virtue (or goodness), faith that prevails.
Faith that PREVAILS. To prevail means “to push through, hold your ground, and come out on top.” The God kind of faith is not quiet or weak, but faith that WINS! And just like every fruit we’ve talked about this year, it doesn’t come from trying harder. It flows from Jesus living inside you. Let me tell you a story.
When I was a kid, I got sick with flu-like symptoms. I don’t know exactly what it was, but I remember feeling awful. I went in to see my dad, Kenneth Copeland, and he just looked at me, and said something that grabbed my attention: “Kellie, you are not a sick person trying to get well. You are a well person, and the devil is trying to make you sick.”
Something happened on the inside when he said that. It hit me like big, solid truth that made me mad at the devil! I said, “Hold on! I’ll be right back!” and ran to my room.
I didn’t waste time, I started talking to Jesus and opened my Bible. I looked up what GOD said. I had read and heard these scriptures many times before, but I needed to put my eyes on them again:
- “By His stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5,New King James Version).
- “By His wounds you are healed” (1 Peter 2:24, New Living Translation).
And especially this one, “He SENT OUT HIS WORD and healed them” (Psalm 107:20, NLT).
Those words didn’t just sit on the page. They became real on the INSIDE of me. It was like Jesus spoke them straight to my heart, and I KNEW they were true. A few minutes later, I ran back out and said, “DADDY! I’M HEALED!”
I didn’t need to go lie down and recover. Jesus had told me who I was—a healed person. And I believed it! Jesus HAD sent out His Word, and it healed ME!
That, Superkid, is faith that wins.
Hebrews 11:1, TPT, says: “Now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen.”
Faith isn’t invisible guessing or wishing really hard. It’s substance. It’s REAL! Real, God-infused faith is knowing something on the inside is true just because Jesus said so. In my room that day, His Word became my reality before anything in my body had changed. That’s faith that wins from the inside out!
So, how does faith get inside you? Romans 10:9 tells us that when we believe in our heart, AND confess with our mouth, that’s when things change. When I ran out of that room and said, “DADDY! I’M HEALED,” I was speaking what Jesus had already told me on the inside. That’s faith speaking! Not just my own words, but the very words Jesus had already put in my dad’s heart to say to me!
Romans 10:17 says, “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God” (NKJV). Not just by reading, but by HEARING. When my dad spoke those words and I found them in the Bible, Jesus spoke and made them real inside my heart. That day, when He spoke to me, my heart believed and my mouth spoke what He spoke!
That’s why Jesus calls Himself the Good Shepherd in John 10. He also says His sheep know His voice. Superkid, that’s YOU! You can hear Jesus! He speaks to your heart through His Word and through the Holy Spirit living inside you.
Hebrews 12:2 says Jesus is the Author and the Finisher of your faith. He starts it and He completes it. How? By talking to you! Superkid, you don’t have to try to find faith or talk yourself into believing His words are true. He is already TALKING His words into you, authoring faith from the inside because HE IS on the inside. That’s the infusion!
Faith is the fruit, or the proof, that Jesus lives in you. When His words become real to your heart, and you just KNOW something is true because He said it, that’s when what you believe becomes real. Like it did for me that day 50 years ago! He’s been walking with me and talking IN me ever since. Jesus lives in you too, producing faith that wins!
Superkid, you can have that same kind of conversation with Jesus. Open His Word. Talk to Him about your day. Tell Him what’s bothering you or ask Him questions! Then just listen. His voice is already on the inside because that’s where He lives. Let His words become YOUR words. That’s faith. That’s fruit. That’s being INFUSED with Jesus!
Say this with me, “Jesus, I hear Your voice! Your Word is real to me on the inside. I am infused with faith that wins over anything because YOU live in me!”
If Jesus speaks → faith comes → you believe → you speak → faith wins, then
Jesus + Superkid = A Winning Combo!
